Welcome to the first year of the
Oswestry Pub Scene Awards.
Oswestry has always been known to have a huge selection of pubs to suit all types of adventures out. Over the years, as like many towns and cities across the UK, more and more pubs are closing, the once-thriving local boozer has started to fade into shops, housing, and empty buildings.
Oswestry Pub Scene was set up in 2019 to celebrate the current local pub scene and to reminisce about the town’s lost pubs.
A couple of years on, Oswestry Pub Scene Awards is born, the local pub awards voted by local Oswestrians.
The awards will recognise greatness across a wide range of categories from Best Food to Best Pub for Watching Sport. The competition will help to showcase the quality pubs we have in the centre of Oswestry, that are definitely worth a visit!
Voting ended on 31st December 2021 at 11:59pm.
Long live the pub!

Best Pub Award: The Bailey Head
“Its lovely to get local awards like this. What makes a pub work is not just a great selection of excellent beer, cocktails, gins and drinks, but the community in it and the people behind the bar.
“We are so delighted our staff have been recognised in particular as Hospitality work often involves antisocial hours and can be exhausting, they are a great team and really deserve this.
“We are so proud of the Pub and winning these 3 awards is a huge honour and we are very grateful to the people of Oswestry who voted for us. We would like to thank everyone who voted for us and also Kieran for organising the awards. We would also like to offer thanks to all the people who have supported us since we moved here. Oswestry is a wonderful place to make a home and we are humbled by how much support and friendship we have found here.”
Grace & Duncan, The Bailey Head

Thank you to everyone who voted for us!”
